A HOUSING partnership has acquired two new homes near Bridgwater, and donated to a local pre-school.

Willow Tree Housing - which recently unveiled affordable homes in North Petherton - has now taken on two new affordable homes in the nearby village of North Newton.

In addition to this they made a donation of £200 to the village's pre-school, known as Little Steps Pre-School.

The organisation was reportedly keen to provide a donation to a local charity that offers a service in a village.

"Little Steps provides childcare right in the centre of North Newton, opposite the Primary School, with an emphasis on learning through play," a spokesperson said.

The money was used by the pre-school to buy a new painting easel.

Donna Johnson, CEO of Willow Tree Housing, said: "Willow Tree is passionate about not just building homes but contributing to the community as well.

"To that end we are delighted that our donation to the Little Steps Pre-School at North Newton will help the team to purchase new toys and equipment for the children who clearly enjoy themselves there, if the evidence of our visit is anything to go by!"
