ORGANISERS of Bridgwater Carnival have asked the public to pitch in and help them win £1,000 worth of funding.
Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, which is an official charity, is encouraging people to nominate the event for a chance to win £1,000 as part of Benefact Group’s annual Movement for Good Awards, which is giving over £1 million away to charities and good causes.
Winners are drawn at random, so the more times Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is nominated, the more chance it has of being selected.
To nominate Bridgwater Carnival, visit the Movement For Good website.
Dave Croker, Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival’s President, said: “Every year it’s getting more costly to stage our spectacular carnival, and therefore we are constantly looking at different ways of increasing our income.
“Every single penny helps, and winning this £1,000 prize would help us enormously as we look ahead to our 2024 carnival activities.”
Dave Stokes, Bridgwater Carnival's Publicity Director, added: “We would really appreciate it if you could nominate our carnival for this award, and you can do it simply online by visiting www.movementforgood.com and nominating ‘Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival.
“In addition, you can also kindly help by using your social media channels and asking your friends and families to nominate us.
"This will give our carnival the best possible chance of winning."
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, says: “Benefact Group is a family of award-winning specialist financial services companies and the third largest corporate donor to charity in the UK.
"Owned by a charity ourselves, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do.
"All of our available profits go to good causes and the more the Group grows, the more the Group can give.
“We are delighted to be able to donate over £1million to good causes each year through our Movement for Good Awards and are grateful to all our supporters, including the customers of the trusted insurer, Ecclesiastical, and the responsible and sustainable asset manager, EdenTree.
"Our Movement for Good Awards help charities change lives for the better and we know that for many charities, £1,000 can make a real difference.”
