Students from Bridgwater & Taunton College's Animal and Environmental Sciences helped clear nearly 50kg of rubbish as part of a busy Environmental Day.
Their efforts focused primarily on the Cannington Campus and village-based sustainability activities.
Not just that, but they were also educated on the potential hazards littering poses to wildlife and took action in a village litter pick - clearing a whopping 49.1kg of waste.
The event was full of environmentally-centred activities such as making hedgehog houses, creating bug hotels, cleaning the Cannington Community Orchard, planting wildflower seeds and conducting biodiversity surveys which led to the start of a log of species found on campus.
Through these exercises, students not only increased their comprehension of ecological responsibilities but also built a sense of community within the Cannington village.
Their actions demonstrated the powerful impact of collective work in preserving and improving local wildlife and habitats.
