The Goathurst Village Heritage Trail is inviting walkers to soak up history, architecture and scenery as part of the annual Heritage Open Days celebration.
Returning from Saturday, September 14 to Sunday, September 15, the trail in Goathurst has blossomed into an immersive experience exploring the rich history of the village.
Launched in 2019, the trail was initially a collaboration between Halswell House, the now defunct Halswell Park Trust, The Landmark Trust and St Edward’s Church.
The trail takes visitors through Halswell Park, and includes follies such as Robin Hood's Hut and the Temple of Pan.
Visitors can also step inside St. Edward's Church to look at the "high-quality funerary tombs and monuments", including some with Corinthian columns.
New for 2024, the trail also embraces Goathurst Village Hall, which will showcase an exhibition on village history.
The trail is free to enter from 12pm to 4pm each day, with sandwiches, tea and cakes available at the Church and at the Temple of Pan.
