A special thanksgiving service will take place at Sedgemoor Crematorium this month.

It is being held to commemorate the crematorium's 10 years of service to the surrounding communities.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 20, between 12pm and 1pm, and is open to all.

Local celebrants Emma Britton and Beverley Symonds, as well as Reverend Will Lane, will lead the service.

There will be music, which will be provided by The Vixens.

Attendees have the option to tour the grounds and, if desired, leave a message, letter or card to a lost loved one in the ‘Letters to Loved Ones’ memorial post box.

Sedgemoor Crematorium is affiliated with the Westerleigh Group.

With over 40 sites across England, Scotland, and Wales, they are one of the largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries.

All sites are set within beautifully landscaped gardens, providing tranquil spaces for reflection.

Westerleigh Group holds a strong reputation for delivering top-tier care to the bereaved, regularly inspected by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) and the Scottish Government.

Sedgemoor Crematorium manager, Laura Williams, said: "No booking is necessary, the service is open to anyone we’ve served during the decade we’ve been open and anyone else who would like to attend.

"We are also hoping to see some funeral directors, celebrants, florists and charities who have had contact with us over the past 10 years join us for our thanksgiving and commemoration."
