PERSIMMON Homes has announced the appointment of Claire Burton as its managing director designate for the Severn Valley region.
Claire, who is currently working as the finance director for Persimmon East Wales and Direct, will move to the region in August following the transition of long-standing MD Paul Moody to a new role.
Claire re-joined the housebuilder in 2023 after a successful 17-year career at Taylor Wimpey in south Wales. She previously built her career at Westbury Homes.
Before joining Westbury, Claire studied accountancy at Cardiff University and qualified as a charted accountant at Deloitte.
In her new role, Claire will be responsible for overseeing operations across the Severn Valley, ensuring the delivery of high-quality new homes across its numerous sites from Tewkesbury to Bridgwater.
Paul, who has been with Persimmon for over 30 years, will be taking up the position of special projects director for the south west, supporting the division’s regions on complex large infrastructure sites.
This new role will maximise Paul’s talents and skillset from a technical and commercial perspective, ensuring his continued contribution to the company.
Commenting on the appointments, Liam Scott, regional chairman for the south west, said: “It’s a pleasure to announce the appointment of Claire as managing director designate for Persimmon’s Severn Valley region.
“Claire brings extensive sector knowledge and enthusiasm to the role, coupled with a proven track record for delivering outstanding results.
“I would also like to pay tribute to Paul Moody for his over 30 years of dedicated service to the business.
“While Paul is stepping down as MD, we are fortunate to retain his expertise in his new role as Special Projects Director, where he will continue to play a key role in our operations.”
Commenting on her new role as MD designate for Severn Valley, Claire said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the Managing Director Designate for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley.
“I am eager to bring my experience and passion for the housebuilding industry to the Severn Valley region, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality homes and foster thriving communities.
“I look forward to working with the team to drive innovation, growth, and excellence in all areas of the business.
Paul Moody added: “It has been a privilege to serve as managing director of Persimmon Severn Valley.
“I wish Claire and the Severn Valley region all the best for the future. I am confident that under her leadership, the team will continue to thrive and achieve great success.
“I am excited to take on my new role as Special Projects Director and to continue contributing to Persimmon’s growth and success.”
