A PRIVATE fishing pond near Bridgwater has gone on the market with an asking price of £175,000.

The pond, located off Straight Drove in the Chilton Trinity area, is described as 'beautifully maintained' and 'picturesque', in countryside surroundings of about 2.67 acres.

The private pond, which alone spans 1.61 acres, is stocked with Common & Mirror Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudds and Bream, and all fish come included in the sale price, as does an on-site caravan.

There is also a hard standing parking area and store shed.

A spokesperson for Greenslade Taylor Hunt said: "The sale of this pond affords prospective purchasers the rare opportunity of acquiring a well-established coarse fishing pond, stocked with a number of different species together with a caravan affording considerable amenity and conservation appeal.

"The land is set amongst a number of other fisheries and is currently used privately but could be used commercially subject to the necessary consents.

"The pond is setback from the public highway at the end of a hardened track, creating a great deal of privacy and seclusion.

"The pond is surrounded by mature trees and hedges and there are a number of swims strategically placed around the water’s edge."
