BRIDGWATER Town Council is hosting an event at Blake Gardens featuring live music from the Congresbury Brass Band.

The Soothing Sunday event will run this weekend.

A spokesperson from the town council said: "Come and join us in Blake Gardens for the third of our Seven Sundays of Summer.

"After Super Saturday comes Soothing Sunday with music from Congresbury Brass Band playing a range of traditional and modern music.

"They will be in the bandstand between 2pm and 4pm. Dave from Sedgemoor FM will also be on site all afternoon

"Refreshments will be available from Blake Museum.

"Bring a seat or a blanket and a picnic and enjoy some free entertainment Bring on the sunshine."

The council, following the success of last year's events, has collaborated with Sedgemoor FM for the Seven Sundays of Summer.

The festival started with an acoustic set from Cam Chilcott, a Somerset singer-songwriter, on July 7.

Future events include a performance by the Burtle Silver Band on July 28, from 2pm to 4pm, and an engaging takeover by the Cobblestones pub on August 4, from 11am to 4pm.
