A flower and vegetable show braved wet weather to raise approximately £1880 of funds for two churches.

The annual North Newton Flower & Veg Show took place on 20 July, and was organised by village volunteers who met throughout the year to plan the event.

Residents from North Newton and beyond were offered the chance to show off their flowers and vegetables, have fun, and "see who really does have the longest runner bean."

A choir group from the local primary school opened the show by performing songs from popular musicals, after an introduction by Sue Stone, one of the organisers.
