PEOPLE from Bridgwater looking for a new place to live can breathe a bit easier after Somerset Council acquired three new ‘affordable properties’ in nearby North Petherton.

An agreement was reached between the Somerset Council and Summerfield Homes for two, two-bedroom detached coach houses and one two-bedroom end-of-terrace house at Carrots Farm in Sedgemoor.

Carrots Farm offers award-winning homes in Sedgemoor, with Sedgemoor notably managing 4,000 properties for the council.

The homes, which are occupied for rent at less than 80% of the market value, come with solar PV panels, car charging points, and two parking spaces each.

Situated on the edge of North Petherton, Carrots Farm compromises 20 new homes and has the advantage of local amenities close by.

The properties on offer are close to the towns of Bridgwater and Taunton as well as junction 24 of the M5 motorway.

Summerfield Homes, based in Taunton, develops properties across the south west and has built over 2000 homes in 50 locations since its inception.

The property developers say they are “Proud to continue handing over affordable homes to reputable housing providers contributing to the growing housing need within our communities.”

Ed Khodabandehloo is the managing director at Summerfield Homes, he said: “It’s been great working in partnership with Somerset Council in delivering much needed, energy efficient affordable homes.

“North Petherton is a thriving community and a very convenient location for M5 access. We hope their tenants really enjoy living there.”
