A MAN was detained in the early hours of Tuesday morning after 'acting suspiciously' in Bridgwater.
Police were called to St John Street at around 1:20am after a report of a man banging on a flat door for 45 minutes.
The suspect was also allegedly trying to open the door, but fled once he heard activity from the occupier, who was inside.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed: "We were called at around 1.20am on Tuesday, July 30 following a report of a man acting suspiciously in St John Street, in Bridgwater.
"Officers arrived on the scene five minutes after the call and found a man matching the description of the suspect.
"They detained the man, took his details and escorted him home.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
