A BRIDGWATER woman who damaged a caravan has avoided having to pay compensation.

Ellen Addelsee, 41, of Stockmoor Drive, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a value unknown in the town on July 22.

She also admitted common assault on a male on the same day during a hearing at Taunton Magistrates’ Court.

Addelsee was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £26 victim surcharge.

But magistrates ruled she would not have to pay compensation to the owner of the caravan as there were “insufficient details provided by the prosecutor for the court to make a compensation order”.
