A NEW wellness gym has opened on Wireworks Estate, offering everything from pain and injury rehabilitation to one-to-one training and sports massage.

Body Mechanics was founded in 2020 by brothers Spencer, 24, and Laurence Nicholson, 28, from Bridgwater, with its newly upgraded premises opened on Sunday, September 1.

The new site on Bristol Road will have all the "same staff and feel" with new group sessions such as strength training and cardio classes added for all abilities, including those with disabilities, and the elderly.

It will also continue to offer the same treatments as Body Mechanics' former site, which was located at The Drove, but now on a "bigger scale".

These treatments include pain and injury management, rehabilitation sports massage, dry needling, acupuncture, spine and joint manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation, one-to-one training, Vibration therapy, and Rocktape kinesiology taping.

Spencer said: "We felt it was time to expand and offer our services on a bigger scale as we've seen how many people have benefitted from it.

"I'm a sports therapist, but I do fitness coaching and personal training, which we want to offer — not just for people who enjoy training and are super fit, but for people who feel they can't or don't have access to exercising.

"There's a class there for each and every person. For people who can't exercise by themselves or move in the same way as others."

Upstairs at the new facility, the brothers are installing a Recovery Room, with ice baths and saunas for people to use after their session, plus a Meditation Room for "mental health wellbeing".
