BRIDGWATER's Town Hall Theatre is ready for this year’s Carnival Concerts, which commence on Monday, September 30.

Bridgwater Town Council has had a busy summer upgrading their facilities, thanks to a share of the £23.2 million funding from the Bridgwater Town Deal. Following the recent upgrades to the balcony seating and a new tiered rostra, seating for the stalls has been installed this week, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

In addition to the seating upgrades, extensive works have been undertaken over the past few months to remodel and refurbish the dressing rooms. These improvements are now complete and ready for use by the various performers and carnival clubs participating in the concerts.

The chairs that were previously used in the theatre are now available free of charge for local community centres, community halls or community groups to make use of. This unique opportunity allows local organisations to acquire a piece of the theatre’s rich history while enhancing their own facilities. The chairs have witnessed countless performances and events, and now they can continue to serve the community in new settings.

If your community centre, hall, or group is interested in acquiring some of these chairs, contact Bridgwater Town Council before 11 October 2024 either by e-mailing enquiries@bridgwater-tc.gov.uk or calling 01278 427692.

Councillor Tim Mander, Chair of the Amenities Committee said: “We are thrilled to unveil the newly upgraded facilities at Bridgwater Town Hall. These improvements not only enhance the experience for our audiences but also provide a better environment for our performers.”

“The support from the Bridgwater Town Deal has been instrumental in making these upgrades possible. We are committed to providing top-notch facilities for our community and visitors. We look forward to welcoming everyone to this year’s Carnival Concerts and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our town.”
