A MAN from Bridgwater has been disqualified from driving for six months after he drove without insurance and “otherwise than in accordance with a licence”.
Paolo de Sousa dos Santos Ximenes da Conceicao, 30, of Devonshire Street, committed the offences in a grey BMW 320d car on November 28, 2023.
He was driving on Hamilton Road in Taunton at the time.
Conceicao appeared before magistrates in Worle on September 11 after pleading guilty under the single justice procedure in June.
He was fined £300 and must pay a £120 surcharge to fund victim services and court costs of £90, giving him a £510 court bill to be paid in monthly instalments of £50.
Conceicao was also slapped with an “obligatory” disqualification because of his “repeat offending”.
He tried to avoid a ban by arguing it would cause exceptional hardship, but the magistrates did not find in his favour.
