A COMMUNITY Hub based in South Bridgwater is expanding its offering for all ages.

ReCreation is located in Hamp and is managed by Bridgwater Town Council. It offers a variety of activities and clubs aimed at engaging and supporting the local community, truly embodying the spirit of “by the community, for the community”.

The Community Hub has just launched its Over 55s Club. Taking place every Friday from 12.30pm to 2.15pm, the club offers a variety of activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social well-being among older adults.

Participants can relax and socialise over a warm cup of tea or coffee, get assistance with using digital devices and navigating the internet, play games or read the newspaper.

ReCreation have invested in a Boccia set for use during these sessions. Boccia is a fun ball game that anyone can play, no matter their age or ability. It’s perfect for those who want to stay active and engage with others.

The Hamp Toddler Group has also resumed after its summer break, providing a fun and welcoming environment for young children and their parents. The group meets every Friday from 9.30am until 11am during school term time for just £1 per family.

Activities include interactive play, arts and crafts, and story time sessions, helping to promote early childhood development and offering parents a chance to connect.

Every Monday from 9.30am until 11am, Health Visitors are available at ReCreation to help parents get their babies weighed, give advice, and discuss any concerns, ensuring parents have access to essential support and information.

ReCreation also hosts the South Bridgwater Local Pantry every Wednesday and offers a variety of other activities, including youth clubs and keep fit classes. Additionally, the centre can be booked for events.
