THE Knowle Inn at Bawdrip has been put up for sale two years after a huge blaze gutted the building.
A fire devastated the popular pub in August 2022, calling time on four centuries of business. Crews from nine fire stations worked to tackle the blaze at the Bath Road pub. Stonegate Pub Company, who owned The Knowle Inn, took the 'difficult' decision not to re-open the building.
The Knowle Inn, near Bridgwater, is now on the open market for a guide price of £250,000. Vickery Holman, a property management service in Exeter, is listing the fire-damaged pub.
The advert describes a “rebuild pub opportunity” on a broadly rectangular plot of 0.42 acres bordered by the A39. It is “suitable for demolition and reinstatement for existing use”. The ground floor footprint is around 274 square meters in size, with trade areas around a central bar.
Other potential uses outlined in the advert for the pub include “either residential or commercial development.”
