PACKED crowds attended Bridgwater’s debut Night Market in the shadow of the ‘Fallen Moon’.

The event, which took place at Bridgwater Docks on the evening of Thursday, October 17, 2024, saw 15 stallholders sell their goods from 5pm to 9pm. The Night Market was such a success that many of the stalls sold out within the first hour of trading.

Michelle Beck, who organiser of the Night Market, said: “There’s been an unprecedented amount of people in attendance. It’s completely unexpected.”

She added: “I’m planning on holding another Night Market at Bridgwater Docks next Sunday. Bridgwater Town Council think around 7,000 people attended!”

Stallholders in attendance included Dough Bros, Real Somerset Silver, Wahoo Clothing, and many more. One trader, SB Cookie Pie Bakes, sold out twice and had t get more stock from Wellington (before selling out again after 45 minutes).

The event coincided with the ‘Hunter’s Moon’, which is up to 15% brighter and 30% bigger than regular full moons.
