A production of The Lady in the Van is set to tour West Somerset this autumn.
The play, written by Alan Bennett, tells the true story of a homeless woman who lived in a writer's driveway for 15 years.
The tale is one of humour and poignancy, exploring the relationship between the writer and the enigmatic Miss Shepherd.
It also reflects on the human condition and the capacity for kindness and understanding.
The production is put on by @2K Theatre, known for its ability to bring classics to the stage, and is directed by David Northey.
The cast features seasoned actors who are expected to bring depth and nuance to their roles, with set design and costumes transporting the audience back to 1970s London.
@2K Theatre has received funding from the Somerset Community Foundation, acknowledging the arts' power to connect people and stimulate conversations.
Theatre-goers can look forward to an exploration of the themes of compassion and connection, as relevant today as when the story first unfolded.
The Lady in the Van will play in Taunton, Bicknoller, Bridgwater, Martock and Watchet, from October to November.
Audiences can expect an evening filled with laughter, tears, and hope.
Tickets are now available for purchase at www.ticketsource.co.uk/at2k-theatre or www.tacchi-morris.com.
