PUPILS from Catcott Primary School have collected and distributed a generous donation to Bridgwater Food Bank.
The recently formed School Council for 2024 to 2025 at Catcott Primary is responsible for organising community and school events. Their first event was chosen to benefit Bridgwater Food Bank, in line with the Harvest Festival.
Parents and children were asked to donate items from a list suggested by the schoolchildren.
Catcott Primary's School Council are voted by their peers, and representatives from Year 1 to Year 6 are involved.
A spokesperson for Catcott Primary School said: "The school are very proud of their fund raising and we look forward to seeing what they can raise over the coming year."
Bridgwater Food Bank is located off North Street. Data from The Trussell Trust shows that, between March 2022 and March 2023, 6,734 people were fed by the town's Food Bank. This included 2,654 children.
