Vagabonds CC will summon ‘The Green Dragon’ for a brewery-inspired tale for this year’s Bridgwater Carnival cart.
Club members wanted to do something fun for 2024, which would facilitate good music and a party atmosphere. It’s a theme completely different to 2023, which saw the club embrace an Egyptian theme.
A spokesperson for Vagabonds said: “It’s brought a great morale to the club so far with a fantastic two weeks over carnival concerts, and we certainly can’t wait for this to continue throughout the cart processions.”
“We are really looking forward to this year’s entry and we cannot wait to see the local streets of Somerset packed with people enjoying the talent all the local clubs have worked super hard to put together for them.”
The spokesperson added: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has helped us with this year’s entry - it would not have been possible without all of your hard work and dedication. We are lucky to have a very active group of members, Vice Presidents, Life Members, and helpers, who all come together to support the club throughout the year in any way they can.”
“From fundraising to designing, building and dress making we have a variety of talented people that are not afraid to get stuck in and help out where needed. Another massive thank you must go to our new headquarters The Old Market for welcoming us with open arms taking us in and supporting us throughout carnival season.”
