A NEW public artwork is planned for Eastover as part of the £23.2 million Bridgwater Town Deal.
The artwork is earmarked under the ‘Animating the Town Centre’ scheme, which has been allocated £400,000 in funding as part of the Town Deal. Alongside a grants programme, part of this funding has already been used to deliver the short-lived ‘Fallen Moon’ art installation.
Residents of Bridgwater can get involved in influencing the outcome of the new public artwork on Eastover. Until Saturday, November 2, “Create the Future” workshops will be held at The Seed Creative Popup in Angel Place. The workshops will run from 10am to 4pm, and offer residents the chance to share their ideas and get creative with activities put on by artists within the space.
The free artistic events will feature artists from the town working in visual arts, poetry, ceramics and pottery. Any age group can take part.
A spokesperson for Seed Sedgemoor said: “We want the artwork to be something that relates to and reflects the community of Bridgwater, come tell us what Bridgwater means to you, better yet you can scribble your thoughts on the wall.”
