SCAFFOLDING has been removed from the front of Bridgwater Town Hall following refurbishment and redecoration.

Key improvements included necessary repairs to the masonry, such as removing any defective render and repairing it with new lime render. The masonry has been treated and fully repainted using specialist materials and products from KEIM.

Additionally, the sash windows have either been replaced or repaired, refurbished, and repainted.

New bird netting has been installed, and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Cells have been added to the roof in preparation for transitioning from gas central heating to electric heating and hot water supply.

Following the removal of the scaffolding, the railings will be painted with weather-resistant coatings to protect against the elements, while the doors will receive a fresh coat of paint to complement the newly refurbished exterior.

Bridgwater Town Council said: “These updates not only enhance the visual appeal of the Town Hall but also ensure its sustainability and longevity.”

“The involvement of local companies in this project underscores our commitment to preserving the town’s heritage while supporting the local economy.”

“The timely completion of these works ensures that the Town Hall will serve as a stunning backdrop for the Bridgwater Carnival, a cherished local tradition that brings together residents and visitors alike.”

Cllr Tim Mander, Chair of the Amenities Committee, commented: "This restoration project is a testament to our commitment to preserving Bridgwater’s historic landmarks while also embracing sustainable practices.”

“The collaboration with local businesses has been instrumental in achieving these high standards of workmanship and community spirit. We are thrilled to see the Town Hall ready to shine for the upcoming carnival.”
