A FATHER and daughter travelled more than 4,600 miles to watch this year’s Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival 2024 after watching a TikTok video.
Tiffany Crumrine and her father, Bob, travelled all the from Colorado in the USA just to watch the Procession. The idea for the pair coming to England was inspired by a video on TikTok.
Tiffany said: “Last year, I was scrolling through TikTok looking at videos and stumbled across a video of Bridgwater Carnival. I was amazed at all the lights, and promptly booked a hotel in Bridgwater for 2024.”
Tiffany had subsequently forgotten about the hotel booking until 30 days before. She said: “I got an email from the hotel, saying ‘Get ready for your trip to Bridgwater’. I thought ‘Oh my gosh, it’s that soon!’”
Tiffany’s father, Bob Crumrine, who is 76 years old, had never flown on a transatlantic flight and wanted to join on the trip.
He said: “Everybody in Bridgwater is so friendly. I like meeting new people and so this is such a great opportunity. I’m really looking forward to seeing the Procession, and the fireworks on Friday were great.”
Both Tiffany and Bob visited Bath and Weston-super-Mare before flying back to Colorado on Monday, November 4.
