ROADWORKS on the major A39 Bath Road in Bridgwater will be completed on Friday, November 15, 2024.
A temporary one-way system is in place for traffic travelling southbound on the A-road from Crandon Bridge. The restrictions will be lifted and two-way traffic flow reinstated from November 15.
Motorists also face further traffic disruption with the Dunball Roundabout upgrade, which starts on November 11, 2024.
The roadworks, which have been ongoing since September, are planned to supply the Agratas electric car battery facility site. The gigafactory will see £4 billion of investment for Somerset.
The next phase of the Agratas gigafactory roadworks will see a one-way system in place on Puriton Hill from November 15 to December 19, 2024. Traffic will be able to travel south from Junction 23 of the M5, up Puriton Hill towards Street and Glastonbury. There will be no access to Junction 23 from the north.
From December 19, 2024, to January 10, 2025, restrictions on Puriton Hill will be lifted, until they are reintroduced from January 11 to February 9, 2025. Further work will be needed in spring next year, with works expected to end in late 2025.
