AVON and Somerset Police are investigating an incident at Bridgwater Carnival 2024 which left one person with a split eyebrow.
Results from Bridgwater Carnival on Saturday, November 2 were delayed for around 17 hours owing to technical issues.
The announcement on Sunday, November 3 led to members of the overall winning club, Gremlins CC, being injured, and another carnival club, Newmarket CC, apologising for the behaviour of one of its members.
Now, Avon and Somerset Police will investigate and have issued an appeal for more information relating to the incident. A spokesperson said: “Officers were called by the ambulance service to Angel Place, in Bridgwater, after a report of an altercation at around 7.25pm on Sunday 3 November."
“One person has received treatment for a split eyebrow following the incident. They did not require hospital treatment."
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information, or who witnessed the incident, are asked to contact 101 and quote reference 5224290023.”
