THE Met has issued an official yellow warning for snow across the southwest of England starting tomorrow.
A spell of rain and snow is expected to develop across southwest England early tomorrow according to the Met Office (Thursday, November 21) from 5am to 3pm.
This comes a day after a yellow warning for icy conditions across the South West was issued, a flood warning for the Glastonbury area and after an announcement that snow is unlikely in Somerset this month.

Accumulating snow is most likely over higher ground above 200 meters where 2-5cm is probable. There is also a chance that similar accumulations will occur at lower levels in places.
Higher parts of East Devon, especially Dartmoor could also see 5-10 cm.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Snow over higher parts of southwest England may lead to some travel delays, with a chance of snow to lower levels too.”
There is also likely to be a risk of ice developing as skies clear into Thursday night.
What should I expect?
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous.
“Keep yourself and others safe by planning your route, giving yourself extra time for your journey. Check for road closures or delays to public transport and amend plans, if necessary,” The spokesperson added. “If driving, make sure you have some essentials in your car in the event of any delays.”
Essentials include warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, ice scraper/de icer, a warning triangle, high visibility vest and an in-car phone charger.
Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.
