BRIDGWATER’S Food and Drink Festival will go ahead on Saturday, November 23, 2024, despite the wind and rain predicted as Storm Birt makes landfall this weekend.
A Met Office amber warning for snow and ice, along with numerous yellow warnings for rain and wind, have been issued for Saturday and Sunday.
To address the weather concerns, event organisers have been supported by Angel Place Shopping Centre and will be moving some stalls inside.
In total, 43 stallholders will be at the event tomorrow, which runs from 10am to 7pm. It is part of the town’s Christmas Light Switch on event.
Paul Russell, of Bridgwater Food and Drink Festival, said: “Despite the weather forecast the show must go on.”
“With the support of the angel place shopping centre we are moving some stallholders from outside into the centre.”
“The general public will now find stallholders selling goods to please all, in the town hall, angel place shopping centre and food trailers on the high street.”
“Stallholders have been busy for week's making produce for this Saturday, please pop along and support them.”
