GREAT Western Railway (GWR) train passengers have been advised to change plans ahead of significant disruption to services on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The disruption is unrelated to the wet and rain weather forecasted this weekend as part of Storm Bert.

GWR have stated that no trains will operate between London Paddington and Reading before 11.15 am on Sunday. After 11.15 am, a reduced service will run between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads, and between London Paddington and Devon/Cornwall.

The train company has also said that it “expects disruption to local services within the Bristol and Exeter areas.”

On Sunday morning, GWR services will start from/terminate at Reading. Customers can change for SWR services to Waterloo; or Elizabeth Line services to Slough where they can change for replacement buses, which will be busy, to Ealing Broadway or London.

GWR says: “We advise customers to only travel if absolutely necessary and change plans if possible.”

If passengers have already bought tickets for this Sunday, they will be valid on Saturday November, 23, or Monday, November 25. Alternatively, customers can opt for a full refund should they no longer wish to travel.
