FORMER Brymore School of Rural Technology student, Alex Wright, has been selected to represent England at the Commonwealth Games in India in October.

Alex, now studying at Leeds Carnegie University, will compete in the 20K race walking. He said: "I didn't know what athletics was until I went to Brymore.

"I represented the school at cross country first, then the district and county.

“Once I discovered race walking I became an England international at schoolboy level, and now this.

“As a 20-year-old I will be one of the youngest athletes in the team."
