ENGINEER lecturers from all over the South West will visit Weston College on Friday to discuss new skills and courses.
Representatives of the National Forum of Engineering Colleges (NFEC) will visit the college for the first time. There will be guest speakers, a presentation on learning aids and talks about how to cope in difficult financial times.
More than 30 NFEC lecturers, covering electrical installation and engineering will attend from colleges in Cornwall, Devon, Avon, Dorset, South Wales and the West Midlands.
They will also look at a new five-day photovolataic installation course for qualified electricians, which is full to capacity.
John Ponting, who is curriculum and innovation lecturer at Weston College’s construction and engineering centre of excellence at the South West Skills Campus, said: “Hosting this event put us on the map in terms of engineering and construction and I know many look forward to see the new campus here and find out more about the photovoltaic solar rig.”
