SOMERSET County Council is joining union leaders to lobby the Government to help cover the costs of hundreds of redundancies as it makes massive budget savings over the next three years.
The authority is proposing making £37m in savings from next year’s budget alone and previously has said that up to 1,500 posts could go over three years.
