A BRIDGWATER man has promised to get his life in order to avoid becoming a “jailbird”.
Mathew Sheridan, 20, was found guilty of breaching his bail conditions at Sedgemoor Magistrates’ Court last Monday.
He is charged with several offences of shoplifting beer and lager last August and is due to be sentenced at Taunton Crown Court on February 25.
But the court heard he is now getting his life back on track and attends college three times a week, studying creative filmmaking.
Sheridan, of Claremont Grove, told the court: “My dad’s an old jail bird and I don’t want to go down that road.”
