A WOMAN wasn't banking on rubble falling from the sky and hitting her as she passed by Barclays in Bridgwater earlier today - but that's exactly what happened.
The branch in High Street had to close for about two-and-half hours at lunchtime after a few 50p-sized pieces of rubble fell from the roof.
The passer-by went into the bank after being hit on the knee by the debris, but she wasn't badly injured.
Staff quickly set up a cordon outside the entrance and worked with the council and police to sort the problem out.
A spokesperson for Barclay's said: "Our staff worked very hard while the branch was closed to keep services going.
"We sat the woman down and made sure she was ok and then took immediate action.
"We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience."
The branch re-opened at around 3.30pm.
