A BRIDGWATER motorcycle group is heading to Dublin next month for the Irish International Motorcycle and Scooter show.

AFB (Andy Forbes Bukingham) Drag Racing will perform “burn out” wheel spins in the Action Arena, at an event expected to attract 27,000 people from March 4 to 6.

The team sport a 2600cc Nitro burning twin cylinder motorcycle, which is capable of covering a quarter mile in little over seven seconds at nearly 200mph.

Nick Saunders, who deals with the East Quay club’s maintenance of equipment and publicity, said: “The spins are usually used to gain more traction before a race. But we will just be making a lot of noise and some smoke to make a show for the crowds. The bikes make incredible noise.”

Drag racing involves two motorcycles or cars racing a ¼ mile at speeds of 150 mph to 330mph. People can also take part in some events at entry level with their own car.
