A TEENAGE boy has been killed after he was hit by a train in Bridgwater on Friday evening.
Police said the boy was 16-years-old and his family had been informed. He is believed to be from the Minehead area.
The driver of the First Great Western train service from Cardiff to Taunton reported the incident at 9.15pm.
British Transport police and Avon and Somerset officers, along with the ambulance service, attended the scene. The incident took place in the area of Bridgwater train station.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "A male person was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries into this incident are ongoing. The matter is not being treated as suspicious."
