DAIRY farmers will not have to take part in costly inspections of their water supplies following a campaign by the NFU.
New rules which aim to make sure people are not at risk of consuming food or drink made with water from private supplies are due to come into force in April, but the NFU argued water used by dairy farmers does not come into contact with the public.
