A MAN from Bridgwater was killed after he was in a collision with a car on the M69 in the Midlands on Monday.

Leicestershire Police say the 24-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering fatal injuries.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway at about 2.45am.

The driver of a dark blue Volvo S40 suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he is described as “comfortable”.

PC Charles Amodio, from Leicestershire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “We would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either the pedestrian or the car beforehand to contact us.

“It is vitally important we speak to anyone who was travelling along the M69 in the early hours of Monday morning.”
