SEDGEMOOR District Council is holding a meeting this afternoon to discuss the sale of the Northgate site to Tesco.
A motion has been put forward by Labour councillors, calling for the decision taken in January to accept Tesco's offer for the 12.4-acre site to be rescinded "on the grounds that this decision was made in undue haste without all relevant information being provided to members". The event will take place in the Sedgemoor Room at the council offices, in Bridgwater House, King Square, at 2.30pm.
It follows a public meeting on Monday where campaign group Bridgwater Forward and residents voted to object the sale of the site to the Tesco.
The Mercury will be covering the meeting and will publish the outcome online shortly after.
