AFTER a day of sunshine across Somerset, we're being warned to expect the weather to take a turn for the worse.
The Met Office is telling us to expect strong winds with gusts of up to 60mph in coastal areas and up to 50mph inland.
A yellow wind warning will be in force from 6pm tomorrow (Thursday) through to 9pm on Friday.
We can expect to see some delays to transport and damage to outdoor temporary structures and trees possible.
Don't be surprised if we get some outbreaks of heavy rain as well.
The unsettled conditions will continue through the weekend, but there is a sign of drier conditions to come from Tuesday, with some indications of temperatures starting to climb towards more typical figures for the time of year.
This spell of weather will likely keep nights cooler than the long-term average, but warmer days compared to what we’ve seen recently.
May so far has been cooler and wetter than average. although still not at record levels for the month.
