BRIDGWATER Cricket Club has announced a big signing ahead of the 2024 Summer season, picking up a local rival's star batsman.
James Regan has been confirmed to play for Bridgwater in the upcoming season after moving on from Taunton St Andrews CC.
A spokesperson from Bridgwater CC said: "Welcome (back) to The Parks, James Regan."
Regan is a right-handed batsman who also plays as a wicket-keeper and has enjoyed a number of strong seasons with Taunton St Andrews.
Both teams play in the West of England Premier One division however last season Bridgwater were in fourth spot, while Saints finished just above relegation.
Regan's move from Taunton to Bridgwater has been met with some confusion online, but many believe the chance for Regan to potentially push for a title with Bridgwater was part of the reasoning.
Last season, Regan was statistically the fourth best batsman in the WEPL Premier One as he scored a total of 575 runs in 15 matches.
His high score was 134 runs not out and an average of 44.23 and a strike rate of 81.21. He finished the season with 4 fifty's and 1 century.
