Victoria Park Bowls Club is having a good response from playing it’s part in ‘Somerset Moves’.
The strategy for the development of physical activity and sport across Somerset.
By offering free use of the bowling green, and providing the necessary equipment to play bowls the club has seen a steady flow of new players trying their hand at playing bowls.
To encourage even more people to have a go at playing bowls, Victoria Park Bowls Club is holding a Bowls Bash event on Wednesday (August 7).
Bowls Bash is a new informal game of bowls that has been introduced by Bowls England.
It is a fun game of bowls for all the family, with each game lasting an hour. The closer to the jack you are able to get, the more points you earn for your team. If you get a ‘bowls eye’, by hitting the jack, you get even more points.
The Victoria Park Bowls Club Bowls Bash is a free event. There will be two separate sessions between 2pm and 4pm, and another 6pm and 8pm.
All the equipment you need to start playing will be provided and experienced coaches and members of the club will show you how to play this new game of bowls.
