With the start of the new rugby season just three weeks away Bridgwater and Albion hosted Welsh National League Division Two side Cwmbran RFC at College Way on Saturday afternoon.
The game was played as four 20 minute sessions during which all 40 of the Albion squad got the opportunity to be involved.
Afterwards Geoff Sluman the Albion’s director of rugby said:
“All the squad got game time - we had about 40 players to mix in. It was a bit disjointed because of that but the purpose of pre season games is to give all the players game time and we did that so it was a good session for us.
“Everyone enjoyed some great “team building” with the Cwmbran visitors after the match. We have done it for a couple of seasons now and it is a sociable time that the players enjoy.”
He added: “In rugby terms pre season is coming along as we would expect with everyone looking forward to the start of the season.”
The Albion are due to play another pre-season game against Wellington on Thursday evening starting at 7.30pm.
The Albion get their Western Counties (North) season underway on Saturday 7th September with a home game against Nailsea and Backwell.
