Bridgwater 3, Royal Wootton Bassett 5
BRIDGWATER’S unbeaten run came to an end against Wootton Bassett.
The hosts went ahead after 15 minutes, thanks to a great steal and calm finish from Tom Lott.
However, only seconds after the restart, Bridgwater were pegged back level and, despite goalkeeper Pete Saunders’ best efforts, were 4-1 down at half-time.
The half-time team talk did the trick and five minutes after the restart, Will Pope produced a great reverse finish.
Bridgwater dominated the second half and clawed it back to 4-3 with a top D strike from Duncan Morrish, only for the visitors to seal it with a fifth goal.

Taunton Vale II 8, Bridgwater 2
BRIDGWATER ladies were well beaten by high-fliers Vale on Saturday.
They went two down from a breakaway and a ‘goal’ struck seemingly from outside the D.
Bridgwater had a goal disallowed but there were some brilliant flashes of play across the team.
After the break, Bridgwater scored the first goal as Heidi Martin found Emma Hill, who slotted home.
The second goal came from a great run from player of the match Sapphy Reed-Yang, dribbling into the D past the Vale defence and reverse hitting the ball into the net.
Bridgwater hope to bounce back to winning ways against Weston-super-Mare next weekend.
Wessex Division 2
Bridgwater II 6, Minehead II 1
THE ladies 2nd XI continued their recent good form at home to Minehead on Saturday.
They came close to scoring in their first attack and Cheryl Notaro-Livingstone put Bridgwater ahead in the first few minutes.
She soon added another and good passing between Clare Wilson and Danni Morgan led to Rose Baker hitting a third.
Sam Mirto made some great saves to keep Minehead frustrated as they pressed forward until they reduced the arrears just before the break.
In the second half, Notaro-Livingstone added two more goals and Baker finished the rout.
The 2nds visit Winscombe 4ths on Saturday.
