SATURDAY brought an inter-club clash between Bridgwater Hockey Club's ladies 2nds and 3rds, in Wessex Division 2 of the West Clubs Women's League.
The 2nd XI came out on top, winning 5-1, but it was a hard-fought encounter and the first half was goalless.
After the break, Cheryl Notaro-Livingstone opened the scoring and Jess Shobbrook made it 2-0.
Steph Parsons pulled one back for the 3rds, but further goals from Notaro-Livingstone and Shobbrook put their side back in control, and Miche Rushe scored late on to wrap it up.
Elsewhere this weekend, Bridgwater ladies 1sts won 3-1 at home to Taw Valley, thanks to goals from Laura Coles, Gwen Thomas and Sheila Burridge.
The men's 1st XI thumped Firebrands B 8-1, to keep up the pressure on the top two in their league.
Tom Lott bagged a hat-trick, with Ash Woolmington (2), Tom Stacey, Duncan Morrish and Jordan Rawles also scoring.
