BRIDGWATER Town FC’s crowdfunding effort, to help the club withstand current financial pressures, is approaching the £2,500 mark.
So far £2,480 has been raised by 68 supporters, as the club targets £12,500 on its fundraising page.
Club chairman Adrian Byrne said: “A wonderful response so far. Thank you to everyone who has the interests of our football club at heart.
“To all of you who have already donated and to those who will donate in the coming days and weeks, it is a privilege to be involved with a football club with such a sense of community.”
Player Tom Ellis said: “I’ve been with the club a few years now and I was made to feel very welcome from day one.
“The community spirit around the place is second to none and it’s fantastic to see the level of support for the club so far.
“Thank you from all of us.”
The club has now confirmed that each named donor will be entered into a prize draw.

MIDDLEZOY Rovers FC is also crowdfunding, and aiming to raise £4,000 - the funds lost with the termination of the football season.
So far, 43 supporters have contributed £2,376, through the crowdfunding page here.
