BRIDGWATER Cricket Club continued its community involvement by running its eighth Kit Barrington Memorial Golf Day in August, and it has now been announced that the event raised £2,750 for Ward 9 at Musgrove Park Hospital.
The day hosted by Enmore Park Golf Club, with the organisation led by Bridgwater Cricket Club president Paul Windsor and his wife Jean.
A record 46 teams entered the fourball event, with first place going to ‘Can’t think of a Name’ captain Ian Jeanes and his team.
The event was well supported by the local community, including other cricket clubs in Somerset and Devon, Bridgwater Cricket Club members, and many local businesses.
In a letter to the cricket club, Zoe Steer - head of fundraising at Love Musgrove - said: “Thank you for your truly wonderful donation of £2,750 for Ward 9 from the Kit Barrington Golf Day.
“Your donation will make such a difference to Ward 9, for both our patients and their families who are looked after by our tremendous staff.
“Our talented doctors and health professionals are extremely grateful to clubs like yours.”
