FORMER Haygrove School and Richard Huish College student Morganne Dunn made her first appearance in the Vitality Netball Super League recently.
Dunn, who can play either Goal Attack or Goal Shooter, has made her way up through the Welsh national youth ranks to the senior squad, and has now made her debut for the Celtic Dragons - Wales’ representatives in the Super League.
The Super League is the highest level of netball played in this country, with 11 teams competing to be champions.
Dunn began her netball journey at Bridgwater Netball Club when she was just 10 years old, and her coach during those early years - Dawn Gurney - speaks very highly of her.
“Morganne played netball for both school and club and she was always a shooter from day one, showing great potential at a young age,” Gurney said.
During her time at Haygrove in Bridgwater, Dunn was a valued member of the Under-14 and Under-16 netball teams which reached the regional finals.
In 2014, she went on to Huish, where she continued her netball while doing a BTEC in Health and Social Care.
Wanting to take her studies further, Dunn is now at the University of the West of England, studying Sports Rehabilitation.
