Counties 3 Tribute Somerset South: Crewkerne 10-16 North Petherton II

IT was a tough but positive day in the office for North Petherton Acorns as they defeated Crewkerne in a narrow match away from home.

Crewkerne certainly pushed the acorns hard throughout scoring the first try of the game however Adam Wright notched over three penalty kicks to keep the score board rolling.

They proved to be very decisive come the final whistle, Acorns went behind with seven minutes to spare and the character of the players with the never die attitude was a huge turning point with Tom Standerwick scoring a try with Two minutes left on the clock.

Reliable Adam Wright added the extras to secure the win for North Petherton.

Skipper Connor Perkins before the game in his team talk mentioned that the team would be taken to the trenches in this game, and they were.

But the belief in the squad was evident as they fought their way out to win the match.

Up next for North Petherton Acorns it doesn't get any easier as they take on Hornets next week for a top of the table clash.
