ACTION in the Bridgwater Sunday League was once again affected by waterlogged pitches at the weekend as only two matches were played.
In the games that went ahead, Bridgwater Wolves lost at home, 0-7 to Ramblers and Spirit FC defeated Nether Stowey 3-1 at home.
Ramblers win saw them move on to 15 points and into second place on the league table, behind Spirit FC who now sit on 22 points on top.
In the match against Nether Stowey, Spirit FC actually had to work hard for the three points.
The visitors took an early lead after a well worked team move was finished off by a solid strike from Rhys Wall.
However Spirit were able to rally and before long had equalised and gone in front 2-1 before half time.
In the second half they extended the lead and kept Nether Stowey at bay as the away side pushed for a second goal.
Josh Harvey scored twice for Spirit while Josh Stevenson scored the other goal and was awarded player of the match.
